What does your company supply?
Form + Function supplies a unique range of stylish contemporary furniture from Australia and Europe, suitable for commercial, contract and residential interiors and exteriors.
How did your company come about?
Form + Function is a newly formed partnership comprising Neil Ronaldson, who has been involved in the commercial furniture industry for thirty years and Jan Friedman, BA Fine Art (Hons) who has a background in ceramics, textile design and graphic design.
Where do you distribute?
Form + Function is based in Melbourne and are in the process of setting up exclusive agencies in other capital cities so that our distribution will be Australia wide.
Describe your customers?
Our main aim is to market to architects and interior design companies. We target specifiers who are looking for stylish, different, innovative and well-designed products. We are also able to provide custom made furniture to meet all clients’ requirements.
What sets your company apart?
Form + Function was created as a culmination of complementary skills and valuable experience. We have an awareness and enthusiasm for design that reflects in our choice of products. At Form + Function we believe in authenticity, integrity and accessibility, and offer our resources to fill a niche in the marketplace.

What are your client’s priorities at the moment?
Priorities at the moment are affordability, ergonomic concerns, and ethical and environmental issues.
What is good design to you?
Good design is not only about aesthetics. We believe good design emerges when form is combined with function. Other factors that contribute to good design are clever use of materials, innovative production techniques, quality manufacturing, and those that also address ergonomical, environmental and ethical issues.
What does the future hold?
Initial market reaction has been very positive which points us towards a promising future. We are predicting growth in our company and recognition and respect from our clients and industry peers. Form + Function looks forward to the challenge of success!
