In refurbishing this residence, Poliform deftly aided in celebrating the building’s heritage appeal rather than competing with it, with immaculate results.

In Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, this landmark, heritage-listed home owed much of its character to its historical significance and traditional styling. In repurposing the kitchen and storage aspects of the house for 21st Century use, the owners faced the challenge of retaining this classical appeal without foregoing the latest in design and amenities.
“Working within the existing heritage walls and preserving them was a design and build challenge, yet this was part of the reward once the project was complete,” explains the homeowner.
Turning to the team at Poliform, the home’s owners were emboldened by the expert craftsmanship and attention to detail that was applied to the design and installation process.
Working within the building’s existing fabric, to preserve its heritage, Poliform sensitively introduced new design elements including contemporary kitchens and concealed wardrobes.
The kitchen was designed to specifically complement the architectural period of the home. Working closely with the clients, finishes were selected that complemented the classic interior but also stayed faithful to the precise brief – the clients like to entertain so a robust and functional kitchen was of just as much importance as a beautiful one.
Extending beyond selection of finishes, due consideration was given to workflow, seamless appliance housing as well as scale and space.
In the master bedrooms Poliform’s experience in delivering exemplary storage solutions was also engaged. Canaletto Walnut was chosen for the doors on the elegant New Entry wardrobe in the marble finished ensuite and dressing room. Each and every detail was considered, with inclusions such as trouser hangers, tie racks, quilted drawer liners, and partitioned drawers, chosen to specifically meet the client’s needs and personal taste.
“Poliform gave us such personal service, meeting all of our design needs and creating beautiful kitchen and wardrobe joinery to complement our heritage home.”
