Silestone Quartz Surfaces: P+ Bacteriorstatic Protection
March 1st, 2012
SILESTONE® IS “P+”
“P plus” is the acronym of “PREMIUM PLUS”, a symbol representing the set of technologies, performance and services behind Silestone®. It includes all attributes like for example its unique textures; its mechanical resistance; its wide colour chart; its exclusive bacteriostatic properties; warranties and certifications of product and processes; and high level of service, quality and responsibility which Cosentino® incorporates to all its products. “P plus” is the name given for all these qualities Cosentino® has incorporated along the years to Silestone®, which give the product its current personality and warranty.
Silestone Premium plus incorporates the latest generation silver technology for bacteriorstatic protection throughout the material.
The active agents are incorporated in the material during the manufacturing process and distributed evenly throughout the product.
The silver technology incorporated into Silestone P+ is based on the controlled release of silver ions to minimise the growth and proliferation of different types of bacteria throughout the material including the surface, interior corners and difficult to reach places.
The controlled release of the active agents developed for Silestone P+ allows their level of migration to food to be reduced to far below established safety levels.
This means that the users of Silestone are guaranteed a high degree of safety when handling food on the surface of the material during the entire life cycle of the product.
