When the prestigious architect firm Ps Arkitektur designed the 2700 sqm new HQ for Skype in Stockholm, Sweden. They chose Bolon’s collections Botanic & Spektra for selected areas.

The Architect Mette Larsson Wedborn explains: “I try to find those materials from where a standard product I can create something unique and specific for the space. For this project, one of the conceptual ideas was to visualize a network of interconnected nodes (in the same way that Skype connects people all over the world). For the flooring we chose to interpret this network to triangular colourfields.”
Botanic Collection by Bolon:
Nature photography and handicraft have inspired reflections of flowers, herbs and plants in woven vinyl. The colour range, also taken from the vegetable kingdom, features muted, rich earth tones combined with bright accents in yellow and green.
“In Botanic, we have created a tangible textile feeling. It has a modern look but flirts exquisitely with idioms from the past. The colour variations have been developed to match different needs. A calm nuance is very suitable for large surfaces and projects, but it is also possible to break it up with a playful stripe or a colour which stands out, such as the green or yellow,” continues Marie Eklund.
Botanic is available as standard rolls or tiles, but just like the rest of Bolon’s range, it is also available for unique pattern combinations through the Bolon StudioTM concept.
Spektra Collection by Bolon:
The colourful flooring called Spektra is produced in the spirit of energy, joy and movement. Each of the six designs in the new collection has different colours and patterns, all with a light, metallic lustre. More elaborate effects can be achieved by those who dare to combine multiple products in the same installation so that monochromatic flooring is coordinated with striped. According to the manufacturer, this flooring provides a good basis for the establishment of exciting spaces where creativity can flow, with its stripes, metallic sheen and flexible combination possibilities.
