Mandi Keighran and Alice Blackwood spotted Italian studio Campeggi as a standout at Milan’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile.
April 21st, 2011
Italian company Campeggi have a knack for working with designers to create innovative transformable furniture with the flexibility to fit into today’s ever-changing workspaces. The studio creates unique pieces for lovers of dynamic and contemporary interiors, and each piece serves several purposes without occupying too much space. The simplicity of the transforming mechanisms maintains the functionality of its designs, making each piece easy and practical.
One of our favourite pieces on show at the Milan fair was the ’Dynamic Life’ sofa, designed for Campeggi by Matali Crasset. This adaptation of the classic recliner consists of seven sections that can easily be folded and re-arranged into several seating variations, including two armchairs and a lounger.
The Sosia was also featured in Milan, and is another fine example of the Campeggi’s modular approach to design. Comprising two seats that can be pushed together to form a bed or separated into two arm chairs, this design whimsically alludes to a camping tent with its extendable fabric cover that can be zipped to form a private indoor space.
