Designed by architect Jun Sakaguchi, ArchMap Sydney uses GPS to pinpoint the city’s iconic built landmarks.

“I worked in Japan for 6 years and have been working in Sydney for over 10 years as an architect and worked on numerous overseas projects,” says Sakaguchi.

“I believe that I have seen most of the great modern buildings in many countries which were introduced to architectural media. I picked up the buildings which are significant in design, with some advice from people in the architectural industry.”

The app provides instant data pertaining to the gross floor area, number of stories, architects’ names, year of completion, design concept, the use of each building and the address – for the app user to conduct a self-directed tour of the city’s architecture.

ArchMap Sydney follows the release of ArchMap Tokyo last year, also designed by Sakaguchi. ArchMap London is set to launch in February.
