The highlight of the Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) is always 'The Edge' exhibition.
This year, all 33 entries – from the mix of both student and professional designers – were impressive. But it was Brad Stebbing's Melee Lamp that shone brightest.
The judges clearly agreed as he was presented with one of the three awards of the day – for the Best Student Design.
Flat packed and with a modern take on the traditional pendant lamp, the Melee Pendant Lamp (pictured with model) demands attention. Ofcourse – it's made from sustainable sources too.
Further setting it apart from similar flat packed lamp designs is the gorgeous detailing of the cut-out plywood – designed to resemble lots of little men holding hands.
Brad was also in the design spotlight in 2007 as a finalist in both the Breville Young Designer Awards, and the QANTAS Spirit of Youth Awards.
Australian design's next big thing?
