People have a desire to have their own room or special space. When they are children, they play with doll houses, in toy houses or in tree houses. This was the inspiration behind this adorable design.
'House on a Table' is a customisable office designed to foster childlike thinking. Hyun’s design aims to return people to the world and spaces they inhabited as children, to create a working environment where they feel secure and comfortable.
A recent top graduate of Design Academy Eindhoven, Hyun feels we are often so concerned about what others think, so caught up in being adults, that our workspaces can become “dry as dust”.
Consisting of 4 walls, a door and a vaulted roof the ‘cubbyhouse’ office has windows bookshelves, drawers and a desk. “House on a table” can stand alone or, when placed together in an workplace, can form a ‘town’.
