With his holistic and passionate approach, Queenslander Brian Steendÿk, is the latest Indesign Luminary.
February 25th, 2009
Queensland-based designer Brian Steendÿk has been honoured as the latest Indesign Magazine luminary.
Educated at QUT in a Bachelor of Applied Science and Bachelor of Architecture, Steendÿk left on a scholarship to travel the world, studying in the US and then working in the Netherlands, before returning to Brisbane to work with The Cox Group.
Unsatisfied by the limited scope of a project architect in a large practice, and with a desire to move into other areas of design, in 2002 Steendÿk founded his multidisciplinary practice (also named Steendÿk).
With a breadth of work encompassing everything from architecture and landscape design to product and furniture design, Steenÿk’s practice is far from typical.
The Indesign Magazine article tells the story of this design luminary, outlining his passionate and holistic approach to design and architecture and exploring his firm’s different projects.
Brian Steendÿk will be honoured at a special Indesign Luminary function in Brisbane late next week.
