The next Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class is planned for July 2010.
Now in its tenth year, the two-week residential design studio program sees participants descend upon Murcutt’s ‘Masterwork’, Riversdale – the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Education Centre – to learn from the world-renowned and award-winning architect.
Held jointly at the University of Sydney’s School of Architecture and on the banks of the Shoalhaven River on the New South Wales South Coast, the program exposes international guests – from practising architects to academics and students – to the expertise of Glenn Murcutt and tutors; Richard Leplastrier, Peter Stutchbury, Brit Anderson and Lindsay Johnston.
Week one is spent at the Boyd Education Centre where participants take part in the conceptual design of a project proposed for a nearby sensitive site, before the group heads to the School of Architecture at Sydney Uni for final presentations and critiques. Guests will also visit other significant Murcutt projects and those designed by the other tutors.
Another highlight of the program is the contribution of South Coast Aboriginal Elder ‘Uncle’ Max Dulumunmun Harrison.
The 2010 program will run from 11 – 25 July and welcomes people from across the globe. To find out how you can be involved click here.
