Indesign travelled to Salone del Mobile, Milan, to catch the latest trends and see the hottest products. While we were there we checked out Artemide’s stunning new lights featuring Ross Lovegrove’s ‘Cosmic Leaf’, and ‘Genesy’ by Zaha Hadid.
We stopped off at Tacchini to see what they have in store for us at Stylecraft and lingered at Minotti where we found stacks of Habitus magazine. Not to be missed was the Thonet stand and Walter Knoll, both exhibiting an array of classic pieces in revitalised forms and colours.
Moroso’s was by far the best stand with beautiful embroidered chairs and couches by Patricia Urquiola. We also came across a swag of outrageous, humorous and bewitching themes with furniture decked out in luscious velvets, lots of cows (?!) and a live prop in the form of a tattooed woman.
Other highlights included the Veuve stand, with special Veuve-shaped wine storage solutions, the super cool Diesel range for Moroso, Chairbiz.com’s colourful and vibrant chair collections and lots of big name collaborations (Karim Rashid, Jamie Hayon, Phillip Starck et cetera) with well-known brands.
