Graduation’s Day

As always, November has seen a lot of exciting new talent on show with Design and Architecture graduate exhibitions.

Graduation’s Day

BY

November 19th, 2008

The 2008 round of Graduation Exhibitions has begun in earnest and the calibre we’re seeing is incredibly high.

Last week’s Sydney Institute Design Centre Enmore Jewellery and Object design Grad show turned up some impressive designs, such as Emma Frizzell’s ‘Remember’ series, John Proudlove’s ‘Belonging Bowls II’ and Wi Hihanni Takahashi’s ‘Fractal Spray’ [all pictured below].

An array of fashion designs were on show at last week’s Sydney Institute Fashion Design Studio’s Graduate exhibition at CarriageWorks in Eveleigh. Juliet Austin [pictured above] received the David Lawrence Design Mentorship – an opportunity to join the David Lawrence Design team for a 1 year Design Mentor Program – and is certainly one to watch.

University of Technology Sydney graduates have also been impressing across the board and will exhibit next week – Fashion Graduates open in Ultimo with the ’DSGN 08’ Fashion Show on 2 December and Architecture Graduates ’Even Better Than The Real Thing’ on 4 December. We’re also really looking forward to the Design Centre Enmore’s Graduation Exhibition 08 on 3 December.

The graduate exhibitions showcase, not just our future designers, but the future direction of architecture and design in Australia and are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Indesign Publishing is proud to support the following Graduates –

Newcastle University – Architecture (Anarchi Exhibition)

RMIT – Industrial Design (Parting Line Exhibition)
