A small, but influential group of Australian retailers have come together to take on design ’replicas’.

Corporate Culture, Euroluce, Kezu, Living Edge and Stylecraft have joined forces to establish the Authentic Design Alliance (ADA) – a campaign to combat the rise in design fakes and to raise awareness in the architecture and design community.
Launched to the media yesterday, ADA will initially see the five companies present an advertising campaign in print media and online.
Speaking yesterday, Richard Munao of Corporate Culture invited other companies and organisations to become involved in the initiative.
Intellectual Property issues and the increase in popularity and proliferation of fakes (blamed on the GFC) are becoming increasingly concerning for the profession, with rip-offs of everything from the classics to the latest big-name designs.
ADA aims to inform Architects and Designers that original design is better made, respects the design intent and goes up in value over time.
To find out more, keep an eye on the ADA website over the coming weeks.
