Akira Isogawa’s new collection for Designer Rugs launched

Akira for Designer Rugs

BY

November 21st, 2007

On a beautiful summer’s eve, 21 November, Australian fashion designer Akira launched his new range of rugs, Kisetsu, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.

Following the success of his earlier range for Designer Rugs in 2005, Akira again collaborated with the innovative Australian rug company, bringing all the experience and inventiveness of his fashion design into his creations.

The new range again plays on a contemporary interpretation of traditional Japanese iconography, including floral and other patterning refreshed for the 21st Century.

The six new designs were teamed with furniture from some of the leading Australian designer furniture suppliers as well as with six leading interior magazines.

Akira spoke at the function, where he thanked Designer Rugs, as well as the furniture manufacturers and the magazines for the experience and for involving him in the wonderful project.
