Elana Castle presents a worthy campaign that could not only change the way that the design industry is represented in Australia, but one that could boost the country’s productivity, sustainability and innovation.

Launched in 2010, The Australian Design Alliance (AdA) is a not-for-profit alliance of professional organisations that represents designers across all aspects of Australia’s design industry. Its mission is to raise the profile of design within government and business circles as well as in the broader community.
“Convincing our political leaders in Canberra to create and fund a national design policy is our number one priority,” says Lisa Cahill, AdA Executive Director.
“The AdA wants to see a national policy for design adopted by the federal government that will be embedded in all government policies but specifically linked to Australia’s Innovation Agenda and cultural and urban design policies. We want to put design at the forefront of innovation for the good of Australia and the good of our design community. “
To raise the funds required for research and the implementation of their communications strategy, Ada have launched a campaign to raise $15,000 on crowd funding platform Pozible.
“This platform provides us the opportunity to reach out to people in the industry that we may not have the opportunity to connect with before. It especially gives people in the design community an opportunity to support a national campaign,” Cahill adds.
Because of the nature of crowd funding, AdA’s self-imposed target needs to be reached in order for the campaign to be successful. Contributions start at $1 and there are a range of rewards for all backers.
If you appreciate the intrinsic value of design, visit AdA’s Pozible campaign and become a valued supporter of this dynamic initiative.
