Issues surrounding the implementation of effective sustainable housing at an affordable price will be discussed at a seminar, hosted by Australian Living, in early May.
The “Five Keys to a Sustainable Home Seminar” will discuss issues such as designing with the end in mind, thermal comfort, material choice, permaculture, and educating the resident.
Seminar spokesperson Cameron Rosen says architects need to be able to design houses that are sustainable from the outset as environmental concerns and regulation in the field increases.
“Now is the time to move from regulation to education and do what’s right by the occupant,” he says.
The different facets of the seminar will be presented by architects and industry members engaging in successful sustainable property strategies, including Caroline Pidcock from Pidcock Architects and Cameron Little from the University of New South Wales.
'Five Keys to a Sustainable Home' Seminar is on May 5, tickets available online, and repeated on May 6 at Designer Rugs Showroom, Edgecliff.
