Electrolux Concept Hub

Electrolux Concept Hub

In 2008, Electrolux Home Products relocated their head office to a new, specially-built and environmentally-friendly building in Mascot, Sydney, featuring a unique interactive showroom.

Electrolux, global manufacturer of domestic and professional appliances, created an office and design and innovation centre that represents progressive and modern architecture, with a Scandinavian feel.

Owned, managed and developed by the Goodman Group, the ecology-driven building was designed by architect David Lai from the Goodman Group, in conjunction with Mati Yogev from Group GSA.

From the outside, the building is a picture of gleaming glass, with the Electrolux offices spanning across levels one to four and 4,000 square metres.

Constructed by St Hilliers, the Electrolux building boasts modern functionality and energy efficiency.

In striving for a green build rating, the curtain walling system, installed by Micos Curtain
Wall Division, played an essential role in achieving this goal. It is the curtain wall that also gives the Electrolux building its distinctive look on the inside and out.

The interiors, designed by Woods Bagot, reflect the company’s Scandinavian heritage, with blondwood panelling and a minimalist feel.

A key feature of the new light-filled Electrolux office is a large, open-plan showroom that highlights the latest Electrolux innovations through interactive displays.

The Electrolux showroom was designed for culinary events, product launches and promotional activities for both internal purposes, and to support partners and Electrolux brand ambassadors.

The showroom is a unique event space that is suited equally for an intimate cooking class, a cocktail party or 300, a sit down dinner for 120, or even a catwalk fashion event.

Since opening in February 2008, the Electrolux showroom has played host to numerous high profile events including Alex Perry fashion shows and celebrity chef master classes. Chefs who have used the showroom’s working kitchens and other facilities include Tetsuya Wakuda and Luke Mangan.

The move to a modern, elegant and energy-efficient office space is a reflection on the Electrolux brand and what they promise to deliver within their products.

“We recognise that a company’s workplace sends a strong message about our organisation to our staff, partners and consumers, so we are very proud of the new Electrolux offices and what they stand for,” said John Brown, Managing Director, Electrolux Home Products.
