Inspiring Emotion

InterfaceFLOR brings together designers from a range of disciplines for The Project 2010.

This year The Project once again joins the stable of Saturday in Design events. InterfaceFLOR have grabbed the opportunity with both hands, calling on 10 design firms from multiple disciplines to engage with their theme of 'Inspiring Emotion'.

Each of the firms has been given a plain mannequin, and access to yarn, carpet topcloth and tiles to create 'art' installations with carpet as their medium for expression.

The design firms range from interiors and industrial design to graphic design, visual communication and fashion. With the aim to promote design collaboration, where everyone receives the same brief but ultimately very different outcomes influence by their varied backgrounds.

The creative responses arising from the brief are certain to be radically different, with some choosing to create immersive spaces – such as Geyer's Habitat installation – while others are exploring physical form – such as Spaceleft's 'The Other I".

Other firms collaborating include:

Gray Puksand, Housemouse, Moth Design, Trout Creative, Whitehouse, Woodhead (conecpt in hero image), JSB Lighting and Y2 Architects

Make sure you get along to InterfaceFLOR during Saturday in Design to see the range of installations - you can find them at the Zambesi showroom, 167 Flinders Lane.
