Creative Drinks

Queensland creatives now have access to a series of innovative networking events.

Brisbane’s creatively inclined now have some new dates to block out in the with the monthly forum, Creative Drinks, which launched on 2 April.

Founded by Margin Media’s Ratu Lewis, Margot Kooij of Holy Mackerel Group and Craig Fossey of MBE Stones Corner, the trio seek to bring their peers together to showcase their work, build networks, introduce up-and-coming talent and further creative development.

Creative Drinks is aimed at all creatives and innovators across all fields from art direction, design, marketing and photography to cinematographers, actors, artists and musicians.

“Unlike standard networking events, Creative Drinks events will combine several elements in order to attract all sectors of the creative industry,” said Margot Kooij.

“At each event, we’ll have a highly regarded speaker or stage show, an exhibition of work around the walls and a product showcase or demonstration. It’ll be loads of fun and totally addictive.”

“This is all about creating a non-competitive environment where we can learn, be inspired, network and showcase our work.  An event of this type is long overdue.”

The first ticketed event was held on Thursday 2 April in Fortitude Valley. Fashion designer Danielle Lewis presented a fashion show, photographer Robert Cobcroft (photography featured) exhibited and guest speaker Michael Doneman from Edgeware discussed 'commercialising creativity'.

The next Creative Drinks event will be held on Thursday 7 May at Mirra, 86 Bridge St in Fortitude Valley and will feature Illustrator Ron Monnier as exhibitor.

Held on the first Thursday of each month, you'll need to buy tickets before the event to make sure you get a spot.

To book, telephone 1300 446 165
$45 for members and $60 for non-members.
